Prof. Kemal Akkaya

Dr. Maryna Veksler

Post-Doc

Dr. Veksler graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Florida International University. After graduation, she worked with General Motors company as a software engineer in Detroit. She graduated in 2025 with a PhD in Computer Science from FIU. Currently, she is working as a Post-Doc at ADWISE Lab.

Manish Paudel

PhD Student

Manish Paudel is a Computer Science PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University. His professional background bridges advanced academic research with over five years of industry experience in systems engineering and cybersecurity. Prior to his doctoral studies, Manish served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Florida International University. His expertise spans identity management, automation, and network infrastructure, supported by a Bachelor of Engineering from Kantipur Engineering College.

He is currently focused on advancing research on bring Post Quantum Security to the Next Gen Networks.

Bigyan Karki

PhD Student

Bigyan is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth University and a researcher in the ADWISE Lab. Before starting his PhD, he spent over five years working in the higher education sector. His academic background includes a Master's degree in Data Science from La Trobe University, Australia, as well as a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Education from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. His research interests lie at the intersection of Machine Learning and Cybersecurity, specifically focusing on data labeling using Large Language Models and the development of Intrusion Detection Systems.

Kush Manglick

Undergraduate Intern

Kush Manglick is currently in his final year pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security at Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. For his final semester, he is at Virginia Commonwealth University, undertaking a research internship under Dr. Kemal Akkaya. He is working on his project - Evaluating cyber-attacks on 5G networks and comparing traditional encryption with post-quantum cryptography.
